With another holiday celebration just around the corner, we could probably all use a little humor to lighten our spirits. So instead of focusing on how to do things right, I thought it might be fun to think of creative ways to totally ruin our holiday gathering.
I’d love to have you add to the list! I’m sure you can think of lots more ways to make everything a complete disaster!
15 Easy Ways to Ruin Your Holiday Gathering
So here are some of the best ways to ruin things that I could think of. What are some of the best (or worst) ones that you’ve experienced?
- Get drunk before the party starts.
- Show up late and make everyone wait for you.
- Try to control everything and everyone.
- Pick on the children and make them cry.
- Talk constantly about yourself.
- Complain about not having the food that you want.
- Put guilt trips on people for not doing what you think they should do.
- Get angry about little things.
- Be negative about everything that is discussed.
- Stage a health emergency, so that everyone has to focus on you.
- Make jokes at other people’s expense.
- Gossip negatively about the people who aren’t there.
- Go in the bedroom and pout if things aren’t going your way.
- Talk politics and religion and start a big conflict.
- Make a big stink and then leave angry.
The sad news is that we’ve probably all experienced people who chose to make things difficult for everyone else rather than working on their own issues. But, fortunately, when we can laugh about our struggles, there’s always hope for a better tomorrow!
