Dr. Bruce Lipton of Stanford University Medical School did research in 1998 demonstrating that 95% of all illness and disease is linked to stress. Many other doctors and researchers have come up with similar findings.

Stress creates a ‘fight or flight’ response in the body. Although that response is necessary and appropriate for emergencies, when it goes on for long periods of time it can do damage to our organs or shut off our immune system. Research has shown that most life threatening illness shows up within eighteen months after intense stress in a person’s life.

With lives that are moving so fast, we need to find natural, healthy ways to release our stress. Many people are now exercising regularly to relieve their stress. Others are trying yoga or meditation in an effort to quiet their minds.
